Dear readers and customers there may be some instability with the website for the next hour or so as I am going to be trying to change some of the internet profiles available to me. Internode (my ISP) has a few months ago introduced annex M on their ADSL2+ network which doubles the max upload from 1.2Mbps to 2.5Mbps. I am hoping I can get one of these to work so that there will be more bandwidth for me to cater for more visitors and provide more services. I am not overly confident in be being able to achieve any better speeds with my current modem ( Netgear DG834g v2) as it has not been overly stable in the past when I have tried higher speeds. There has also been talk that the V2 probably does not support annex M and even ADSL2/+ as I think the hardware is not up it but this is what I am trying. If I am unsucessfull at the new speeds I will for the sort term just put it back they current way and then at a later date after some research buy a new modem that is fully ADSL2+ compliant.

Update
It would seem that annex M works at least sort of on my router as I have been able to connect at 14843 kbps downstream and 1794kbps upstream. I have even been able to stay connected for about 30 minutes and I think that it only lost sync as I was trying to run a line quality test from a website in the US. I will keep it at this setting for a while to see if it can hold a connection for a longer length of time.
